Abstract: The bee genus Perdita Smith, 1853 (Panurginae) is recorded from the West Indies
based on the new species, Perdita (Perdita) islacabritosensis sp. nov. from Isla
Cabritos, a xeric island within salty Lago Enriquillo in the southeastern part
of the Dominican Republic. The species is described and figured, and compared
with putative relatives among the hyperdiverse subgenus Perdita.
