A new Perichares from the Cosñipata Valley, Cusco, Peru, and the revalidation of Perichares lindigiana stat. rev. (Lepidoptera: Hesperiidae)

Abstract: A new Perichares Scudder, 1872, Perichares cosnipata Suênia-Bastos, O. Mielke
& Casagrande sp. nov., is described from the Cosñipata Valley, Cusco, Peru,
and P. lindigiana (C. Felder & R. Felder, 1867) stat. rev. from Venezuela,
Colombia, Peru and Bolivia is revalidated. After this study, Perichares contains
24 species. In addition, lectotypes are designated for Hesperia colenda
Hewitson, 1866 and Hesperia lindigiana C. Felder & R. Felder, 1867, and a
key to the related species of Perichares is provided here.
