Heteroptera: Pentatomidae, PhyllocephalinaeActa Entomologica Musei Nationalis Pragae 40: 33-43
Abstract: According to the present distributional knowledge of the subfamily Phyllocephalinae (Pentatomidae) there are represented in Iran four or possibly five species. All mentioned species e. g. Chalcopis mirzayansi Hoberlandt and Safavi, Schyzops aegyptiaca aegyptiaca (Lefebvre), Schyzops pakistanica Ghauri, Phyllocephala albicornis Horvath and recently not proofed species Gellia nigripennis (Dallas), range in their distribution into South and South-East Iran. The mentioned species, with the exception of Oriental Gellia nigripennis (Dallas), are of Saharo-Sindian distribution with the distributional centre in the Near East. Phyllocephala negus Distant, an African species, penetrates to the Near East (recorded from Aden and Palestine).
Ježek J.Results of the Czechoslovak-Iranian entomological expeditions to Iran. Diptera: Tabanidae. Larvae and pupae of two Persian Tabanus species.Acta Entomologica Musei Nationalis Pragae 40: 45-55
Abstract: The author presents the descriptions of last instar larvae and pupae of two Persian Tabanus species (T. leleani Austen, 1920 and T. zimini Olsufjev, 1937) for the first time and gives diagnostic characters of both larvae and pupae. Many detailed differences were ascertained and figured both on the head capsule of larvae and on its appendages.
Ježek J.Results of the Czechoslovak-Iranian entomological expeditions to Iran. Diptera: Tabanidae.Acta Entomologica Musei Nationalis Pragae 40: 57-74
Abstract: The author gives a small part of the results of studies on horse-flies (Tabanidae) gained during three biological expeditions of National Museum (Nat. Hist.) Praha to Iran. Tabanus eggeri mianjangalensis subsp. n., T. hashemii sp. n., T. ilchanii sp. n., T. mordax boroumandi subsp. n., T. sajavii sp. n., T. yasujensis sp. n., T. zeirii sp. n. and Dasyrhamphis kuhedenaensis sp. n. are described. Types of the new taxons are based on the females, T. yasujensis sp. n. both female and male. Differential diagnoses are given. Hybomitra mendica (Vill.) and Tabanus ansarii badhysi Ols. & Shevtsh. are new for the fauna of Iran. The male of Haematopota coronata Aust. is described for the first time.

Diptera: Culicidae, OestridaeActa Entomologica Musei Nationalis Pragae 40: 83-84
Abstract: The material collected by the Czechoslovak-Iranian entomological expedition in Iran in 1973 comprised 3 species of mosquitoes belonging to 3 genera: Culiseta annulata (Schrank), Aedes caspius (Pallas) and Culex theileri Theobald. The specimens of Ae. caspius from this material had typical specific features. A case of infestation with one species of the family Oestridae, Oestrus ovis Linne, was recorded in man. First-stage larvae of this species were deposited in the eye.

Abstract: The type species of the subgenus Bagrada sensu-sticto and sensu Horváth 1936, hilaris (Burmeister, 1835) is redescribed with special reference to male and female genitalia. Three new speices from various localities of Pakistan are described and are compared with their cosest ally the type species and the only species known to-date within the subgenus. In the light of the above characters and the note on their zoogeography, the phylogenetic positions of the subgenus within the genus Bagrada Stal, 1862 and of the included species within the sub-genus are also briefly discussed. A key to the included. A key to the included species alongwith a short description of the sub-genus is also given.
